Entrepreneurship is more than just business; it’s a passion, a movement, a way of life.
At Mom Your Business (MYB), we believe entrepreneurship has the power to impact lives and transform communities. This belief was beautifully captured in a simple yet powerful phrase: Entrepreneurship is My Love Language. (Watch the video)
The Ah ha moment
“Entrepreneurship is My Love Language” was born at the Holiday Hustle event hosted by BVP Coffee. MYB founder Tanya T. was there shopping, networking and sharing insights with Anthony of Zeru on how AI can help entrepreneurs be more productive, streamline operations, and maximize their potential. The conversation resonated deeply, sparking a realization: an ah ha that entrepreneurship isn’t just about strategy and profits—it’s about love, passion, and community. It’s a love language.
It was a beautiful sentiment, one that spoke directly to the heart of MYB’s mission. That moment of connection inspired us to create a tangible representation; A t-shirt that embodies the love we pour into our businesses and the community that supports us.
The magic continued on MLK “Content” Day at MYB Hub North. Entrepreneurs gathered, created, and shared their stories. It was described as “Disneyland for entrepreneurs,” a place where innovation and creativity flourished. Founders, creators, and visionaries came together to showcase their businesses, tell their stories, and, most importantly, inspire one another.
MYB Hub North is located in Allegheny West, played host to this incredible event. This neighborhood has been a cornerstone of Black entrepreneurship for decades, a place rich with history and culture. Just a block away from the historic Deliverance Evangelical Church, where the Philadelphia Stars of the Negro Baseball once played at the then Shibe Park and later the Phillies when it became Connie Mack Stadium. The Hub stands as a beacon for today’s entrepreneurial dreamers.
A Community Rooted in Growth and Legacy
Allegheny West is not just a location; it’s a testament to resilience and progress. Close to Dobbins High School, which boasts a media arts and culinary arts program, the MYB Hub is perfectly positioned to foster the next generation of entrepreneurs and creatives. In fact, we’re thrilled to announce an upcoming partnership with Dobbins’ media arts program, which will provide students with internships and hands-on opportunities to work alongside entrepreneurs and develop their skills.
At Content Day, we asked entrepreneurs a simple but profound question: When did you fall in love with entrepreneurship? The answers were as diverse as the businesses represented, yet they all shared a common thread—entrepreneurship is about passion, freedom, and creating opportunities not just for ourselves, but for our communities.
The Impact: A Message for Entrepreneurs, Funders, and the Community
This isn’t just for entrepreneurs; it’s also for investors, business leaders, and the broader community. MYB is committed to breaking down barriers and providing Black and Brown women entrepreneurs with the resources, mentorship, and capital they need to thrive. Entrepreneurship is My Love Language is more than a phrase—it’s a movement.
As Carla Clarkson so perfectly put it: “MYB Hub is a magical place. It’s like Disneyland for Entrepreneurs!”
