Mom Your Business Believes in Second Chances

When I started Mom Your Business, it was because I saw the frustration of Black women not being given a real chance to build wealth through entrepreneurship. Too many needed capital and could not get it; others needed support and resources and could not find them. Either way, they needed and deserved an opportunity to succeed. Nearly ten years later, that mission has not changed. At Mom Your Business we believe in second chances because we have seen how access to the right opportunity can change lives. Our work is rooted in accountability, growth and the belief that people are more than their hardest moment. Mistakes and setbacks are lessons, not final judgments.

Over the past two years, I have gotten to know Devon Horace not only as a colleague, but as a person, and I know the value he has brought to Mom Your Business and to the broader Philadelphia entrepreneurial ecosystem.
We are proud to support Devon Horace and the work he has done with our organization. Since joining Mom Your Business, Devon has served in an operational role and has helped support more than 100 entrepreneurs in Philadelphia with care, professionalism and commitment to our mission.

It is also important to be clear about his role: Devon has no financial responsibility at Mom Your Business, no access to our funds and no responsibility for managing our books. His contributions have been focused on helping us serve entrepreneurs and move our mission forward. His current role as Chief Strategy Officer reflects the trust he has earned through that work.
We know that public narratives can sometimes oversimplify or misconstrue a person’s story.  At Mom Your Business, we believe in redemption, responsibility and the power of community to help people advance their career and life. We also believe that when someone earns trust through consistent work that should be recognized and celebrated.

Our mission remains the same: to create access, build opportunity and support entrepreneurs with dignity. We will continue to lead with integrity, transparency and a belief that people deserve the chance to live, learn and build a future they can enjoy.
